Les plus vuln\u00e9rables sont les enfants autochtones, les enfants vivant dans des familles monoparentales, les jeunes en famille d&#039;accueil et les enfants r\u00e9fugi\u00e9s, indique le rapport.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\">Il fait \u00e9cho aux conclusions d&#039;un rapport publi\u00e9 lundi par une coalition d&#039;organismes sociaux, montrant que 27 pour cent des enfants de Toronto vivent dans la pauvret\u00e9 et reprenant le titre de la ville de \u00abcapitale de la pauvret\u00e9 des enfants\u00bb au Canada.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\">\u00abEn tant que m\u00e8re et citoyenne, ces choses me mettent en col\u00e8re. Je ne sais pas pourquoi il n&#039;y a pas plus d&#039;indignation \u00bb, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 Austin, qui travaille dans le secteur sans but lucratif depuis plus de 20 ans.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\">La mission d&#039;Enfants d&#039;abord Canada est d&#039;\u00eatre un d\u00e9fenseur des int\u00e9r\u00eats des enfants, en engageant le gouvernement et le secteur priv\u00e9 \u00e0 s&#039;attaquer \u00e0 de nombreux probl\u00e8mes qui affectent la capacit\u00e9 des enfants \u00e0 r\u00e9ussir dans leur vie. Ces d\u00e9fis comprennent l&#039;acc\u00e8s \u00e0 l&#039;\u00e9ducation, la sant\u00e9 mentale, l&#039;augmentation des niveaux d&#039;ob\u00e9sit\u00e9 et l&#039;acc\u00e8s \u00e0 un logement convenable, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 Austin.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\">En rassemblant les efforts des organismes communautaires et des enfants ambassadeurs, l&#039;organisme de bienfaisance esp\u00e8re \u00eatre une voix forte pour responsabiliser davantage les gouvernements municipaux, provinciaux et f\u00e9d\u00e9ral envers la cause des enfants.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\">La premi\u00e8re des demandes auxquelles l&#039;organisme de bienfaisance fera face est la nomination d&#039;un commissaire \u00e0 l&#039;enfance, un agent ind\u00e9pendant du gouvernement f\u00e9d\u00e9ral charg\u00e9 uniquement d&#039;\u00e9tablir des politiques qui am\u00e9liorent la vie des enfants.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\">L&#039;organisme de bienfaisance demandera \u00e9galement un budget pour les enfants, d\u00e9taillant combien le pays investit dans les enfants et \u00e9valuant l&#039;impact des d\u00e9penses.
