Announcing changes in the role of our Founder, Sara L. Austin

A MESSAGE FROM OUR FOUNDER, SARA L. AUSTIN:

I am pleased to announce changes in my role with Children First Canada. Effective September 5, 2017, I will be transitioning from the position of CEO to the role of Lead Director of the Board. I have accepted the role of CEO of the Sheldon Kennedy Child Advocacy Centre, and will continue providing strategic leadership for Children First Canada as the Founder and member of the Board of Directors.

Since the day Children First Canada was established, we have worked diligently to achieve our bold vision to make Canada the best place in the world for kids to grow up, and I will continue to support this mandate.

My change of roles from CEO to Lead Director of the Board of Children First Canada will not affect the ability of the organization to continue to achieve its goals. At Children First Canada, we are expanding our staff, welcoming new board members, and we will continue to build on the incredible momentum we’ve gained thus far. We have exciting plans in place for the year ahead, and are more committed than ever to realize our mandate as a national movement to make Canada the best place in the world for kids to grow up.

Children First Canada and the Sheldon Kennedy Child Advocacy Centre are truly pioneering the level of care, protection and empowerment of children to continuously improve in Canada. Both organizations share the same passionate commitment to advocate for children. I believe the work of our two organizations will continue to improve the quality of life for kids in Canada through influencing, innovating and integrating the efforts of the charitable sector, corporations and government at both the national and local levels.

Sara L. Austin, Founder & Lead Director of the Board – effective September 5, 2017
