MOBILIZING COMMUNITIES TO EMPOWER AND UPLIFT YOUTH
As CEO of the United Way of Calgary and Area, Karen Young has been a passionate advocate for children and youth, leading efforts to tackle some of the most pressing challenges facing kids today. Under her leadership, the United Way has championed programs like All In for Youth and Planet Youth, and played a key role in expanding CFC’s Being, Belonging, Becoming program in Calgary. Karen also helped lead CFC’s social impact lab on anti-Black racism, partnering with the
BlackNorth Initiative to promote equity for youth. Her visionary leadership through the United Way’s Council of Champions inspired CFC’s own model of mobilizing leaders to put children first.
