Hockey Coach Runs Marathon for Kids in Crisis

When Wes Wolfe heard about the crisis facing kids through Children First Canada’s (CFC) #codePINK campaign, he wanted to do something about it. Based in Ontario, the head coach of the Cobourg Cougars set out to run a full marathon (42.2 K) to promote the rights and well-being of kids and to raise funds for CFC. After weeks of rigorous training, Wes and his friend, Taylor Sexton, completed the marathon on Aug. 22.

“We ran a route that was mostly on the Friendship Trail in Fort Erie, looping at the Peace Bridge and back into Crystal Beach,” says Wes. “I completed it in four hours and 27 minutes… We were given support and hydration at various spots on the trail by family and friends. Our total raised is at $5,600 and climbing!”

Wes and Taylor’s original fundraising goal was set at $15,000. It’s not too late to show your support! Click here to donate to their “Ks for Kids” run.
