2023 marks the 30th anniversary of National Child Day in Canada – it’s a day to honour our country’s commitment to upholding the rights of children and two historic events: the 1959 signing of the UN Declaration of the Rights of the Child and the adoption of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child in 1989. Globally the day is known as World Children’s Day.
This year our theme is #EveryChildEveryRight because ALL 8 million kids in Canada should be able to experience ALL of their rights!
Last year more than 20,000 students and 200+ schools participated! Sign up as a classroom or with your whole school/organization to watch together. And be sure to check out our Activity Guide for ideas you can use at home and in school to
