Children First Canada (CFC) is recruiting 8 summer interns to join our team through the Canada Summer Jobs Program.

POSITION DETAILS
- Job Type: 8-week contract (between May 1 – August 31, 2026)
- Hours: Full-time (37.5 hours/week)

ELIGIBILITY
These internships are funded through the Government of Canada’s Canada Summer Jobs Program. Applicants must:
- Be between the ages of 15–30 at the start of employment
- Be legally entitled to work in Canada
- Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person granted refugee status in Canada
International students are not eligible under the program criteria.

- Special Projects & Events: Young Canadians’ Parliament & The Future is NOW! Awards
The Youth Engagement Manager will support national youth leadership initiatives including the Young Canadians’ Parliament (YCP) and The Future is NOW! Awards.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Supporting youth engagement and civic participation initiatives
- Assisting with planning and coordination of virtual youth events and meetings
- Supporting outreach and communications with youth participants and partners
- Coordinating the Future is NOW! Awards nomination and jury review process
- Assisting with event logistics, run-of-show documents, and stakeholder engagement
- Special Projects & Events Coordinator: Being, Belonging, Becoming & the SDG Accelerator
The Special Projects & Events Coordinator will support the implementation of CFC’s youth leadership and education programs.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Supporting the Being, Belonging, Becoming (BBB) program and SDG Accelerator
- Assisting with educator outreach and onboarding
- Coordinating workshops, events, and youth engagement activities
- Supporting program evaluation, surveys, testimonials, and reporting
- Creating promotional and digital content to support recruitment and engagement
3. & 4. Research Specialist (2 Positions)
Raising Canada
The Research Specialists will support the development of the annual Raising Canada report on the top threats facing children and youth in Canada.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Conducting literature reviews and environmental scans
- Supporting qualitative and quantitative research and data analysis
- Assisting with focus groups, surveys, and stakeholder consultations
- Preparing briefing notes, summaries, and research reports
- Supporting knowledge mobilization and public awareness initiatives
- Communications Specialist: Social Media & E-Marketing
The Communications Specialist will support CFC’s digital communications and audience engagement strategy.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Managing and growing CFC’s social media platforms
- Creating graphics, videos, newsletters, and digital campaigns
- Supporting e-marketing and audience engagement initiatives
- Monitoring analytics and preparing communications reports
- Assisting with storytelling and content creation for programs and campaigns
- Communications Specialist: Podcast & Website
The Communications Specialist will support digital storytelling and web communications initiatives.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Supporting production and promotion of podcast content
- Assisting with website updates and digital content management
- Creating multimedia and promotional materials
- Supporting interviews, episode coordination, and editing preparation
- Assisting with communications campaigns and audience engagement
- Bilingual Services Coordinator: Program & Event Translation
The Bilingual Services Coordinator will support CFC’s commitment to providing bilingual programming and communications.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Translating program, marketing, and event materials (English/French)
- Supporting bilingual communications and outreach
- Assisting with bilingual virtual events and youth engagement activities
- Reviewing translated content for accuracy and accessibility
- Supporting official language minority community engagement
- Fundraising Coordinator
The Fundraising Coordinator will support donor stewardship, fundraising campaigns, and event fundraising initiatives.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Supporting donor database management and Salesforce updates
- Assisting with donor stewardship and communications
- Developing digital fundraising and marketing campaigns
- Supporting fundraising events and donor engagement activities
- Assisting with donor reports, thank-you letters, and outreach

SCHEDULE
Successful candidates will work 37.5 hours per week remotely. Some positions may require flexibility for occasional evening or weekend youth programming, events, or meetings.
